Casa Slovacca attracts thousands of visitors, with the quarterfinal hockey match adding to the excitement

The Slovak Olympic House was buzzing today during the quarterfinal game between the Slovak hockey team and Germany. Casa Slovacca has seen tremendous interest – the electronic system has recorded nearly 22,000 registrations to enter the Slovak Olympic House so far.

The largest group of visitors are Slovaks, but Casa Slovacca has also attracted many international guests. "Many are local Italians, but also Spaniards, Americans, Czechs, Poles, and French visitors. This international reach is important to us in terms of promoting inbound tourism to Slovakia," said Matej Fekete, CEO of SLOVAKIA TRAVEL.

Traditional bryndzové halušky remain popular, with over 200 kg served

At the Slovak Olympic House restaurant, visitors are most drawn to traditional dishes like halušky, venison, šúľance, and soups—especially the iconic kapustnica. To date, nearly 7,000 meals have been prepared here, including soups, main courses, and desserts, with over 230 kilograms of halušky consumed. "Apart from Slovak guests, many Czechs and Italians regularly come to sample traditional Slovak cuisine, with Italian visitors showing interest in almost every dish on the menu," noted M. Fekete. Visitors also appreciate the quality of the food and the reasonable prices, which they say are often lower than in nearby establishments.

Casa Slovacca is organized by SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, the national tourism promotion organization, in partnership with the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee.
