Today at Casa Slovacca, the Slovak Olympic House, we celebrated a Slovak-Italian day. The timing was perfect, coinciding with the hockey match between Slovakia and Italy. The victory of the Slovak team made the fans' joy even greater.
On this occasion, visitors to Casa Slovacca had the chance to watch the slicing of genuine ten-year-old Parmesan cheese, which many then tasted and praised highly for its flavor.
"We wanted to highlight the excellence of Italian cuisine, with cheese being one of its signature elements," explained Michaela Šimoničová, project manager of Casa Slovacca.
The Slovak Olympic House is a popular destination, with around 16,000 people registered to visit so far.
"Besides serving as a base for athletes and fans, Casa Slovacca is a strategic platform for Slovakia that connects sports, culture, and tourism during the Winter Olympic Games. Through the Olympic House, we strengthen the country's international brand, engage foreign visitors, and showcase Slovakia as a modern and attractive destination in the heart of Europe," said Matej Fekete, CEO of SLOVAKIA TRAVEL.
The Slovak Olympic House was also visited during the Slovak-Italian day by the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, along with other distinguished guests. "Today is Slovak-Italian day with many surprises and interesting events. The atmosphere was fantastic, and we can be proud. I admire the zest for life here in Italy and how they handle problems more easily than we do. We share the habit of complaining, but for them, it's part of socializing, and they leave satisfied. That joy of life, that dolce vita, is something they truly know," the president commented.
Visitors enjoyed Slovak folklore performed by the Zemplín folklore ensemble, and rapper Ego also performed.
Casa Slovacca remains open to the public throughout the Winter Olympics.
