Casa Slovacca – the national presentation (Slovak House) during the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games – welcomed another distinguished visitor. On Monday afternoon, Prince Albert II of Monaco visited the historic premises in the center of Milan, just a few steps from the iconic Duomo.
His presence confirmed the international significance of Casa Slovacca as a space where Slovakia presents itself to the world not only through sport, but also through culture, design, and social events.
“Today I am visiting Casa Slovacca in Milan for the first time, but I have visited Slovak Houses during past Olympic Games on several occasions. It is always a great honor for me, as there is a wonderful atmosphere here and I truly enjoy it. I wish all Slovak athletes the very best of luck in their sporting disciplines,”
said the Prince of Monaco.
The monarch also tried one of the attractions at Casa Slovacca – an interactive hockey experience.
“It was a bit unusual, because I expected the puck to slide as it does on ice, so I had to push a little harder. But it was fun,” he added.
Prince Albert II was welcomed by Anton Siekel, President of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee, together with his team, as well as Michaela Šimoničová, Casa Slovacca Ambassador for SLOVAKIA TRAVEL.
“It was an honor for us to welcome Prince Albert II to Casa Slovacca during the Winter Olympic Games in Italy. The Prince of Monaco regularly visits the Slovak House during the Olympic Games. We exchanged friendly greetings and discussed mainly the atmosphere of these Winter Olympics during our meeting,”
said Jozef Liba, Secretary General of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee.
As part of the Casa Slovacca program, Slovak fashion designer Fero Mikloško presented his MIKLOSKO SOIRÉE collection – for the very first time directly in the heart of the global fashion scene. The show took place just ahead of Milan Fashion Week, at a time when Milan naturally attracts concentrated attention from media, industry professionals, and an international audience.
It marked an exceptional moment – a physical presentation of Slovak fashion in a city that has been shaping fashion trends for decades.
The event attracted numerous guests from the worlds of fashion, culture, sport, and diplomacy. Among those present were members of the Slovak delegation, including ice hockey players Juraj Slafkovský, Tomáš Tatar, Pavol Regenda, Adam Ružička, Erik Černák, Dalibor Dvorský, and others.
“We are very pleased that our national representatives found the time to visit Casa Slovacca. Their presence enhanced both the atmosphere and the significance of the Slovak House – bringing together culture, sport, art, gastronomy, and people,”
stated Matej Fekete, Director General of SLOVAKIA TRAVEL.
During the Olympic Games in Milan, Casa Slovacca demonstrates that Slovakia can captivate audiences not only on sporting venues, but also in the fields of culture, fashion, and international representation. Since its opening, Casa Slovacca has been visited by more than 3,000 people, nearly half of whom were Italians.
Visits by the Presidents of the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic – Peter Pellegrini and Petr Pavel, the presence of Prince Albert II of Monaco, participation by sports stars, and Italian fashion authorities confirm that Casa Slovacca has become a place that naturally connects Slovakia with the world.
Casa Slovacca is being organised by the SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, the national organization for the support and promotion of tourism, in cooperation with the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee.
